Shale Inhibitors

PolyAmine

DenAmine is a high-quality, amine-based shale inhibitor used in water-based drilling fluids to prevent cuttings from hydrating in reactive shale and clays. Additionally, it strengthens the borehole, reduces the risk of bit-balling and non-productive time, and increases ROP. DenAmine can be added directly to the mud system with minimum adverse effects on rheological properties.

Cloud Point Glycol

DenGly MC is a medium-cloud-point multifunctional additive designed for water-based drilling fluids to enhance wellbore stability, particularly when drilling through problematic shale formations. This additive stabilizes troublesome shales by forming ‘clouds’ that effectively plug shale pores, thus preventing hydration and swelling. Performance of DenGly MC is elevated in the presence of an inhibitive salt, such as KCl.
